Thanks to all of our wonderful parents who volunteered at a station, helped the kiddos or chaperoned our line during the Field Day.  We couldn't have done it without your help.  A big thank you to our P.E. coaches for organizing this event. The kids had a blast!

READING and WRITING
We are almost done with our poetry book and I am so proud of my students' beautiful poems. This week we will work on some heartwarming Mother's Day projects.  We will use our writing skills, our artistic abilities and all we can do, to say thank you to our wonderful moms! We are still in the middle of reading assessments.  This is the time that your child reads to me individually and I get to enjoy the progress that they have made throughout the year.  Please make sure, your child gets at least 15 minutes of reading time at home each night.  Thank you!

MATH
We will continue the measurement unit and explore the capacity and weight of 3-D shapes.  We will define capacity as the amount that something can hold and use vocabulary such as full, half full, or empty to describe the capacity of various sized containers.  We will use non-standard units such as scoops of rice, or glasses of water to measure the capacity of three-dimensional objects. We will also use non-standard units such as linking cubes and balancing tools to compare the weight of 3-D objects.
We will apply our knowledge in solving math problems.

SOCIAL STUDIES
This week we will learn about goods and services. Goods are produced and services are provided in our community.  We will identify and discuss examples of goods and services, ways people exchange goods and services and the role of market and services in our community.

THANK YOU!

Thank you for stuffing the folders, and being willing to help in the classroom or outside the classroom. Your helping hands and hearts are greatly appreciated!

More than anything, thank you for supporting your child's learning at home.  Your child's success and education is a result of, us working together! So thank you for being a partner in your child's learning!
